Any item smaller than a tennis ball in our recycling falls through filters at the modern material recycling facilities (MRFs). These small items are separated out as "contaminants" and sent directly to landfill.

When aluminium capsules are processed using the unique rePodder method, they are captured inside an aluminium beverage can to ensure they will make it through the sorting process, to be separated with all other aluminium items. All aluminium gets baled together for forwarding to the smelter.

Traditional "collect & return" methods require you to stockpile 130+ capsules. These capsules will sweat and grow mould if not allowed to air-out. When you keep the lid off or bag open (to dry out), within days you will notice a squadron of little flies buzzing about the pile.

Thanks to rePodder, you don't have to deal with the mould, flies or the smell from these stockpiling capsules. Simply process them when you empty your spent capsule drawer on the machine. Put the coffee grounds on your garden/compost and collect the capsules inside the aluminium can. No mould, no smell, no flies - plus reclaim that space!

Over 90% of Australians have kerbside recycling bins and most developed countries have a similar system for recycling. Those trucks already pass by your driveway and collect your other items – this means no additional carbon miles for collection.

When your aluminium capsules are collected inside a standard beverage can, your local recycling truck collects them with all the other items in your bin. Using the existing recycling infrastructure is a BIG saving on carbon miles.

The current/traditional method for recycling coffee pods requires them to be in a thick plastic bag. When you recycle with rePodder, you don't need any more plastic bags – ever! Finally a solution that is thinking about complete sustainability!

Recycling your coffee capsules using those heavy duty boxes lined with a thick plastic bag is very expensive! Even though it's still better than tossing in your garbage, when you use rePodder there is no need to repeatedly buy those expensive boxes.

That is a saving in your wallet and your footprint by not supporting the production of the box and the thick plastic liner. Plus, there is no emissions from recycling each element after the box has lived it's single-use. Boom!!

Recycling your coffee capsules and adding those nutrient-rich coffee grounds to your garden or compost will reduce the methane produced from rotting in landfill.

FYI – Methane is the 2nd highest contributing greenhouse gas (GHG), and is an astounding 25 times more potent than the largest GHG – that is CO2.

Using rePodder to process and recycle aluminium coffee capsules via your kerbside collection means there is no need to transport them extended distances to a single point for processing to separate the coffee grounds and aluminium.

In Australia, the processing plant is in Nowra NSW. Many countries have a single point for processing, but all others must transport them to another country.

The process of separating the coffee grounds from the aluminium capsule at a custom-built facility is no longer required with rePodder.

Eliminating the energy-intensive process adds to the emission-saving benefits of rePodder.

It does't take a rocket scientist to work out you are reducing the carbon footprint associated with your morning coffee, when using the rePodder method.

Simply count the benefits above that have outlined the savings in emissions from the current (& only) method provided to recycle your coffee capsules – until now!

When you process your coffee capsules with rePodder for simple disposal via convenient kerbside recycling, you are set to enjoy your next Nespresso or compatible coffee completely free of guilt. Finally!
